GOLDELSEN-CUP, THE SECOND!
After the success of last year’s tournament, the organiser’s quickly decided to go straight for a Berlin Tournament 2009, rather than wait a year. Keeping the name Goldelse Trophy and, of course, continuing the co-operation with the Women’s/Lesbian sport association Seitenwechsel.
The Goldelsen-Cup will take place in Berlin from 13th to 15th November 2009. Information on the tournament and accommodation will be published on this site at the beginning/middle of May. So take another look sometime soon. We're looking forward to meeting you!
A word of explanation for non-Berliners: Goldelse is the nickname Berliners give to the bronze sculpture on the Victory Column. Her real name is actually Viktoria, the goddess of victory, and she has the finest view over Berlin. She looks down from a height of over 66 metres on the capital, in particular the Tiergarten park and thus also the annual CSD parade (Gay Pride). Incidentally, you can enjoy this great view for yourself before or after the tournament, if you don't mind climbing the 285 steps to the viewing platform!
Online registration begins on 17th May 2009 and ends 31st August 2009. The teams can register in each of the following levels:
female/male teams: Levels A, B+, B- and C
Patron: Klaus Wowereit, Governing Mayor of Berlin
